Holistic Treatments

Holistic Pain Solutions

Our bodies are quite adept at repairing themselves.  SO:  Why does it take so long to get to my main complaint with this in mind!?

The best answer to this comes from Ed Stiles, DO:  due to the model of tensegrity (google it) the body's response to injury is for system-wide adaptation.  Typically the painful area is the area that has needed to make the most adaptation/compensation, and this is often far from the site of the original injury.  It is the site of the "greatest area of restriction-hindrance" (Stiles) that MUST be addressed first.  This is in the patient's best interest, and likely prevents extended treatment plans.

Rolfing

  • The body is a functional, interrelated unit

  • The body structure follows the theory of tensegrity

  • Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated

Key Aspects of Osteopathy

  • The body is a functional, interrelated unit
  • Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated
  • The rule of the artery is absolute: (health depends on unrestricted  blood supply to all tissues)
  • The principle of auto regulation (homeostasis):  the body contains all substances needed for growth and repair
